Finding Items

  • There are multiple ways to find or browse for items in Libby:
    • Browse around the home screen to see popular and trending items.
    • Use the filters at the top of the page to sort items in order of newest, most popular, or filter by items only available to be borrowed immediately. Clicking on the three lines in the left hand corner will also provide filters such as subject, format, audience, language, etc.
    • Search for a specific item using the magnifying glass in the lower menu, on the bottom left hand of the screen.

Borrowing Content

  • When you find an item you'd like to borrow, you will either have the option to borrow the item immediately or put the item on hold, if it's currently unavailable.

  • You must confirm you'd like to borrow the title and it will tell you the length of loan period, or the estimated wait time if you're putting the item on hold.
  • At the end of your loan period, the item will return automatically. Additionally, when a book you've placed on hold is available, it will automatically show up in your loans.
  • To see the items you have on loan, and the items you have on hold, navigate to your "shelf" by clicking the stack of books icon in the bottom menu.

  • On your "shelf" you can also: Tap Read With... to choose where you'd like to read a book (Kindle or Libby), then finish sending to Kindle or start reading in Libby, and tap Manage Loan to see options like Renew Loan and Return Early.
