Getting Started with BlueCareer: Home

Summary

BlueCareer, a workforce development platform from EBSCOlearning and Powered by BlueRecruit, is the one-stop shop to explore the skilled trades industry, start careers, and connect with employers. BlueCareer provides in-depth information on more than 100 skilled trades, connects individuals with hundreds of trade schools across the United States and Canada, and provides training resources for those seeking to build their trade knowledge and experience.

Getting Started in BlueCareer

  • Using a web browser, go to the Library's BlueCareer Landing Page and click the "Access Database" button
  • The BlueCareer homepage will show you the following three options to get started:

  • You can also click the home icon in the upper-righthand corner of the screen, to see a dashboard with additional features such as an interactive Career Journey builder, a Learning Paths resource, a salary search to see the average pay of trades in your area, a state search to find our what trades are currently in demand in your area, and more!
     

User Registration and Access

Many features within BlueCareer do not require an account. A user can take the assessment, explore 135+ trades, access the resource library, and watch many training resources, such as the OSHA Ladder Safety course and How to Read Blueprints. A BlueRecruit account is, however, required to access training content through Interplay or to save assessment matches and favorite trainings.

If you are interested in signing up for a BlueRecruit account, outside of EAPL's BlueCareer access, click on the "Sign In" or "Create Job Seeker Profile" buttons and enter the required information.
